Data, data everywhere

A very timely article from the Economist on the ‘data deluge’. The article basically talks about the challenges of having too much data (e.g. YB = yottabyte, wasn’t even in the lingo till 1991) and the opportunities for companies to create new revenue models from that data. The challenges cover well covered ground – boring (to me). The section on opportunities was great (it ties well with the book Pull by Siegel).

Well worth a read. I think the smart companies will start thinking of how to use their data (and what’s not theirs) to create new business models.
