Interesting numbers in media, recruiting, innovation…

I’m a sucker for interesting numbers. In my readings, client engagements etc. I often come across ones that may help other consultants with their analysis, estimates etc. Here are some for this week:

  • Showtime, Starz, Netfix and HBO have 18m, 20m, 25m and 28m subscribers in the US. Netflix has been growing the fastest
  • 35% of HBO subscribers come from the poorest 40% of the US population. Amazing. [Media]
  • There are about 105m multi-channel TV households in the US. [Media]
  • Size of recruiting industry $400B [Recruiting]
  • Business people are 35% more likely to come up new ideas if they’ve lived in a foreign country. [Innovation]
  • ~50,000 people applied for asylum in the US last year. 32% were Chinese. [Immigration]

Will try to make this update a weekly thing.
