Marketing, the new growth area?
Interesting little article from the WSJ on how companies (such as IBM) are focusing their sales efforts on Marketing rather than traditional IT. This is in line with a couple of trends/predictions:
- One of the Gartner analysts recently said: “By 2017 the CMO will Spend More on IT Than the CIO”
- Adobe’s pivots to focus on marketing
I’m seeing a similar spend pattern with my clients.
