A strategy for a strategy

HBR has a nice little article on how the process of formulating a strategy is not the same for each company.

The key findings are embedded in the image; in essence the BCG guys that wrote this article break up the market into 4 different types – Adaptive, Shaping, Classical and Visionary. Their survey showed that the visionary style was used most often and the shaping style used the least.

Worth a read (and some thinking) if you are helping a client with their strategy. Let me know if you need the article and don’t have access to HBR.
