Consulting growth rates: Strategy consulting is growing the fastest
A lot of ink has already been spent on the announcement of the PwC merger with Booz. At one level one can think of this as an arms race between PwC and Deloitte; Deloitte buys Monitor, PwC does something similar to bolster its street cred on strategy. There may be another way to look at this. Take a look at the following chart from a report from Kennedy.
The (compound) growth rate of strategy consulting is almost twice that of financial consulting (which probably makes up ~2/3 of PwC’s revenue). This may be a way for PwC to offset some of the ‘slowdown’ in its core.
